Seven New Puppies
The number of perfection! Monika today (August 15, 2001) had Gold, Purple, Blue, Pink, Orange, Brown, and Green - or at least that's the color of the strings I tied around their necks. Here are the stats:

So, just two hours of labor from start to finish for seven puppies! Here are all the photos from the day, and a couple of Monika still pregnant.
I thought she might be going into labor last night, and I stayed awake all night waiting. Turns out Monika was considerate enough to have her pups at a decent time in the afternoon. Figures. :(
Little Green is quite the little fighter, coming out screaming and shaking her head. Orange was the only other one to be interested in eating right from the start. Purple has extra toes on her back paws:

We setup our whelping box for the third time on our back porch, and are now enjoying a pleasant evening in the sixties out here with the dogs. I'm going to stay up through the night with them, but David's not.
