Don't Love

"Love makes the world go round" , "all things are possible with love."

Love isn't always a good thing. 1John 2:15-17

Yes, we are to love our brother 1Jo 4:21, love our enemies Luk 6:27, be totally driven by the love of God De 6:5.

But, we are not to love the world, or specifically certain things in it:

1. The lust of the flesh
• Food Ge 3:6; Ps 78:30
• Sex Mat 5:28
• Self-satisfaction Jude 1:16, 2Pe 2:10
• Sensuality 2Pe 2:18
2. The lust of the eyes
• Attractive Ge 3:6
• Clothes & money Jos 7:21
• Possesions and property Mat 4:8
  
3. The boastful pride of life
• Self-accomplishment Dan 4:30
• Arrogant boasting Jas 4:16
• Selfish ambition Jas 3:14
• False sense of security Is 47:8-11
  

They're all temporary, and won't last.

One who does the will of God abides forever.

• Those who trust in the Lord cannot be moved Ps 125:1,2
• The righteous' foundation is everlasting Pr 10:25
• Jesus' water & bread give eternal life John 4:14; John 6:58
• Jesus sheep cannot be taken from His hand John 10:28,29
